    Regina Lay is concurrently an Anchor and the Business News Editor at One News, the cable news arm of Cignal, the Philippines’ leading cable channel. She co-hosts the channel’s flagship primetime show, The Big Story. Prior to that, Regina served as Anchor and Head of News at Bloomberg TV Philippines, running a team of more than two dozen and overseeing the daily editorial agenda for the network. She holds a Masters in Business and Economic Reporting from New York University.

      Governmental and non-governmental organizations around the world seem to have finally grasped the urgency of climate change and the key role that environmental reporting can play to identify issues, hold governments and corporations accountable and inform citizens. Even though funding supporting climate reporting has become more widely available, producing quality climate journalism remains a challenge due to the complexity of the issues, their transnational nature, and the many interests at stake. This session will explore how Asian journalists and media outlets are facing these challenges. What kind of specific resources and processes have they developed to cover that beat? What would be needed to make cross-border collaborations easier and climate reporting more impactful?
