    Editorial Co-head, SG Climate Rally

    Isaac is the co-head of the editorial team at the climate justice collective SG Climate Rally, which organised Singapore’s first physical climate rally in 2019. In the day, he is a geopolitical and physical security risk analyst working in the private sector. As an advocate for climate justice, he seeks to highlight the impacts of climate change on marginalised communities, and to build collective action for climate policies that will bring about a just transition. He also currently cohosts a series titled “Before the Ballot” on the socialservice.sg podcast, and his works on civil society in Singapore have been published by various media outlets.

      Long dominated by the SPH / Mediacorp duopoly, the Singapore media scene has seen small - online only - independent media companies blossoming in recent years. NIMBUS, a volunteer-run network of civil society and independent media organizations, holds regular workshops, panel discussions and events for their members as well as media fairs to engage with the general public. In this session, Nimbus representatives will explain how their network was launched and how they hope to nurture an independent media ecosystem in Singapore. The Singapore Climate Change Rally (SGCR) will share their experience as members of the Nimbus network and explain how they use multimedia platforms to convey their news, information and specific campaigns.
