    Choo Ching Yee is the Southeast Asia Teaching Fellow with Google News Initiative. Prior to that, she was the first fact checker hired by French news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) to focus on fact checking misinformation from Malaysia and Singapore and has also been a Malaysia correspondent for Nikkei Asia. She has more than a decade of experience as a journalist, with a personal interest in open-source intelligence techniques, press freedom and the business of media.
