Braema is a writer, researcher and an activist. She is a trained teacher, an award-winning journalist, a researcher, policy analyst, trainer and is currently also a tutor at Curtin University Singapore. Braema’s consultancies include organisational reviews, capacity building, research, advocacy, empowerment and work process reviews. She is a public speaker and a panel presenter on a number of issues such as healthcare, gender, migrant worker rights, HIV, civil society structures, refugees, Human Rights, SDGs, ASEAN, reporting mechanisms such as CEDAW and UPR. She has published reports and articles in both academic and non-academic mediums.
She has been a leading founding member in registered and is presently an active member of the Working Group for ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism, Refugees Collective, is on the editorial board of Singapore Unbound and as advisor to NIMBUS.
