AAJA-Asia is proud to host the 14th edition of the New.Now.Next Media Conference (N3Con) May 23-25, in Singapore.

N3Con 2024 brings together journalists and media professionals throughout Asia. Come join discussions of important media trends and pick up new skills at N3Con workshops, from how to use Generative AI for reporting to finding stories in data. There will be opportunities to network with a diverse group of editors and reporters from local as well as international news media outlets.

  • N3Con 2024's first day, on May 23, will be fully dedicated to touring Singapore newsrooms This tour designed for media professionals and students in journalism will bring you behind the closed doors of leading news organizations. Get a rare glimpse into how they put out the news day by day, hour by hour, on news cycles that are getting impossibly shorter and shorter. Find out what drives their coverage and unravel the mysteries of how editorial decisions are made.

  • In this session, talent recruiters, HR managers and newsroom executives from Singapore and international newsrooms will pitch their news brands and present the roles they are currently trying to cover. They will also discuss market trends, preferred profiles, job openings and tips for applying to their company.

  • Mental health clicnics are one-on-one counselling sessions with a certified practician to help journalists who are emotionally suffering from occupational moral injuries. - Resume Doctor are a speed-consulting rounds where mentors sit down for 15 minutes with each applicant to discuss their resume, reel and next career goal. (Limited invidivual slots for both clinics will be offered on a first come, first served basis. (Clinic bookings can be made through the registered participants RSVP form)

  • Have ambitions but don't have the plan to get there? In need of career development? Come join us to share and exchange ideas on how to take your career to the next level, led by a coach or experienced newsroom journalist. Participants will be divided into groups according to their professional experience, from students and early-career reporters to mid-career journalists. Participants will share market trends and insights on how to strategize their next career steps.

  • Unconference sessions consist of roundtables or moderated conversations on a topic suggested by the conference participants (instead of the organizers). A survey will be sent out in January 2024 to invite the AAJA-Asia extended community to send suggestions of topics they would like to discuss and/or pitch sessions they would like to lead. In 2023, sessions on collaborative journalism, freelancing, salary negotiations or community-led journalism were scheduled as part of the "unconference" segment of N3Con 2023.
