AAJA-Asia launches Chats with Asia Editors at N3Con 2020
The New.Now.Next Media Conference (N3Con 2020) launches on August 27 with a series of exclusive chats with editors and media executives from across the Asia Pacific region. Participants will get a chance to learn first-hand about newsroom innovations and career opportunities at the biggest news outlets, as well as tech companies and media start-ups in the region. Celebrating its 10th year, the online conference is hosted by the Asia Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
Over four engaging days, Aug. 27-30, N3Con will feature over 50 top journalists and newsmakers/innovators in conversation at in-depth panels and workshops, including a keynote by Rappler CEO and Executive Editor Maria Ressa – focused on how journalists have adapted and innovated in 2020 to tell crucial stories from #TheNewFrontlines – the event ‘s theme this year.
The series of exclusive chats with editors and news executives will offer media professionals, journalists and students a rare glimpse into how Asia’s newsrooms put out breaking news and engaging storytelling and how crucial editorial decisions are made. Participants will also get a chance to interact with these media and tech leaders on a variety of topics, from career opportunities to the future of news and building audiences.
N3Mag’s first multimedia issue is out!
Alongside the conference, AAJA-Asia has launched N3Magazine, an annual multimedia review featuring stories, podcasts, and video interviews on topics related to N3Con’s theme including:
- Covid-19’s impact on the media in Asia
- Staying nimble while covering protests and civil unrest
- Media restrictions in Asia and
- The new Media and technology landscape
Interviewees in the magazine’s podcast/video series include N3Con speakers and other top journalists such as Ching-Ching Ni, editor-in-chief of the Chinese language edition of the New York Times; Angie Lau, founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief of Forkast.News; and veteran Singaporean journalist and commentator PN Balji.
