    Irene Jay Liu leads Google News Lab in the Asia-Pacific region, based in Singapore. She was previously an investigative reporter and data editor at Reuters, where she was a 2017 Pulitzer finalist in the national reporting category, and taught data-driven investigative journalism at the University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong. Earlier, she worked at the South China Morning Post and as a political reporter with the Times Union in Albany, New York.

      At this session, N3Con 2020 participants will have the opportunity to speak informally with Google's News Lab Head for Asia Pacific, Irene Jay Liu. A former reporter on the global enterprise team at Thomson Reuters (for which she was a 2017 Pulitzer finalist in the national reporting category), Irene will be able to explain the deep connections between Google and the news publishing industry. She will answer all the questions you may have about the latest tech innovations and programs that Google has launched for supporting journalism in Asia, and about what it is like to work at Google and what the career opportunities the tech company holds for journalists.
