Roger Clark is Vice President and the Hong Kong Bureau Chief for CNN International. A journalist with more than 30 years experience, Clark has been with CNN for more than a decade, spending seven years as a Senior Director of Coverage based at the network’s headquarters in Atlanta. Clark was responsible for CNN’s day to day international newsgathering operations and delivering international news to all of CNN’s networks and digital platforms. Roger has played a senior role in managing CNN’s coverage of many big stories including the Haiti Earthquake, the Arab Spring, the Japanese Tsunami, Typhoon Haiyan and MH370’s disappearance.
Before moving to Hong Kong, Clark was based in Jakarta acting as a senior consultant where he was instrumental in advising on and assisting with the launch of CNN Indonesia. Roger has worked in newsrooms since he was a teenager – first with BBC Radio then BBC Television. He spent time at Sky News in the UK before moving to CNN in London in 2004. During his career, he has worked as a programme producer, reporter, manager and anchor.
