Join the AAJA-Asia Training Network, Powered By Google News Initiative

Become a trainer in the latest digital journalism tools! Applications are now open to join the AAJA-Asia Training Network by attending a workshop in Hong Kong, in conjunction with the ninth annual New. Now. Next Media conference hosted by the Asian American Journalists Association’s Asia chapter.
The full-day workshop will equip you to use Google tools and other digital offerings more effectively to research stories, track sources and break news.
You will become a Google News Initiative-certified trainer, able to conduct similar training workshops for newsrooms.
You will also have the opportunity, under the direction of AAJA-Asia and Google News Initiative, to conduct workshops as part of the AAJA-Asia Training Network in your home country, and receive a stipend each time you do it! (Currently $100 USD per classroom hour.)
Here are the details of the workshop:
DATE: Saturday, June 2, 2019
TIME: 9 AM to 5 PM (lunch is included)
VENUE: Room 201, Eliot Hall, The University of Hong Kong (HKU)
The workshop will be limited to 15 people. To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
– You are a working journalist, either with a news outlet or freelancing

– Ability to train in another language is preferred but not required
