Melisa Idris is the Executive Producer of ‘The Morning Run’, the morning drive-time show for BFM89.9, Malaysia’s only independent radio station. The Morning Run provides an ‘executive summary’ of local and global business news. The show aims to facilitate discussion and debate about issues in finance, the economy, and governance.
Her work experience includes a stint with the Malaysian National News Agency and an Islamic Finance publication. She has a Masters in Journalism from University of New South Wales, Sydney, and a Degree in Economics from University Malaya, Malaysia. In 2017, she was chosen to participate in one of the most prestigious fellowships in journalism, the Wolfson Press Fellowship at the University of Cambridge in the UK where she spent an academic term as a Press Fellow, researching Post Truth and the spread of ‘fake news’ and disinformation.
