Eric Ulken


Eric Ulken is assistant managing editor, digital, at The Seattle Times,
where he oversees the digital production team and helps coordinate the
newsroom’s digital efforts. He was previously the editor for interactive
technology at the Los Angeles Times, where he led the creation of the
paper’s acclaimed Data Desk. Prior to joining the L.A. Times, he held digital roles at The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch and, the website of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans. He has taught journalism at the University of British Columbia and the University of Southern California and has written about issues in digital journalism for the Online Journalism Review and other publications. He holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s in communication management from USC.
